The notion of Potion

There are three sides to every story – yours, mine and the truth…

The sordid tale of wax chips whispered in hush tones concerning the short duration of the fragrance, the waxy after-smell, and the messy leftovers. Long after the scent has dissipated, you still have almost all original melted wax material to deal with.

La-Tee-Da! spins a new yarn with the introduction of Potion: a water-based liquid fragrance for warmers that maintains strong scent clarity throughout its use and doesn’t end in a messy tragedy.

As gentle as a bedtime story, the liquid gradually dehydrates down to a thin film and is easily wiped from the warmer dish with a cloth or rinsed out with water.

Half an ounce of Potion typically provides 3–5 hours of pure fragrance enjoyment, depending on your warmer setting.

No phthalates or petroleum products.

Potions are available in six fragrances: Monogrammed Linens (Lavender), Stay Awhile (Tropical Vanilla), Idyllic Refuge (Cinnamon Apple), Coming Home (Clementine & Pinecones), Perfectly Pomegranate (you guessed it – Pomegranate) and Smoke & Mirrors (Mahogany & Leather).

La-Tee-Da! on TV

Near the end of an American Pickers episode entitled ‘White Castle On The Farm’, hosts Mike Wolfe and Frank Fritz visit a gift shop to pick up something for Danielle, who helps them find places to execute their ‘picking’ skills. That shopping spree resulted in a cameo appearance by none other than La-Tee-Da! Fortunately for us, the gift shop in question happens to be a premier dealer of ours. Porch Inc in Rockford, Illinois is owned and operated by Debbie Mongan. On the show, Debbie demonstrates why she’s such a successful independent retailer. She ascertains the customers’ needs and provides a level of customer service and knowledgeable guidance that is exceptionally rare in today’s typical Big Box shopping experience. Check out the show to see what happens. There is a great shot of our display fixture and a brief discussion of our effusion lamp fragrance refill called Lickity Split – a zesty, fizzy blend of lemon and other citrus fruits with a sprinkle of sugar. Even though the guys end up buying something else for Danielle, it was thrilling for us to see the product we work so hard to produce make a cameo appearance on a show we actually like. Debbie sent them on their way with a heartfelt gift that was gorgeously gift-wrapped. Next time you find yourself in Rockford, go check out Porch Inc and say ‘Hi’ to Debbie for us.

American Pickers is on the History Channel, Monday nights at 8:00 CST. We weren’t able to get any footage from the network to share with you (thanks, A&E!), but that’s material for a later entry. You can download the episode on iTunes here. It is also available On Demand if you have DIRECTV (channel 1269).
